Creativity has always been a passion of mine. Whether expressing myself through my work as a graphic designer, or through my recipes and experiences as an avid home cook and food blogger, creativity has been my escape from life’s daily struggles. It’s been my own personal form of therapy.
In early 2020, my family’s world took an unexpected turn when we suddenly lost the love of my life, my wife, Daria. While this tragic and unexpected loss hurt us all deeply, it was through my creative expression and curiosity that I was able to understand my new role in life as a solo parent of two teenage daughters during the world-altering pandemic, while slowly rebuilding and reestablishing who I was on this new path of self discovery and healing.
In my new soon-to-be released memoir, Reflections: A Young Widower’s Journey Through Loss, Hope and Healing, I share the struggles that were suffered throughout my wife’s illness, and the steps that I learned to take – and continue to follow – during this healing process.
Much of what I have learned throughout this process was through my creative curiosities. Among the many creative thoughts that I worked with, I found food therapy to be one of the most influential approaches that helped me heal. I am excited to offer not only my new book through this website, but also share with you stories and updates of my continued journey on the path to healing and discovering new ways to express my creative visions. Through this website, I also aspire to encourage others to embrace their life’s path and to share their stories of tragedy and triumph.
Aside from this website, I also continue to write for my food blog domskitchen.com.
In 2017, I authored the self-published A Little of This and Some of That: Recipes and Memoirs from an Italian-American Food Blogger.
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, I now reside in the Philadelphia suburbs, enjoying life as a devoted dad to my two daughters, Julianna and Ava and our dog, Theo.
