Dominic “Dom” Condo is a Philadelphia-based creative whose life and work are grounded in persistence, artistry, and heart. Dom’s creative journey began in South Philadelphia, where food, family, and storytelling were always at the table. At Dom’s food blog, Dom’s Kitchen, he enjoys sharing traditional (and personally updated) recipes and the family stories that go along with them.
Dom’s skills are very old school. It’s not often that he deals with exact measurements. “I grew up with ‘a pinch of this, some of that, a little more over there!’ It’s a skill that most Italians and Italian-Americans pride ourselves on.”
In addition to sharing recipes and stories, Dom has been involved in various food blog collaborations with a number of talented home cooks and chefs. Dom has also been a frequent guest and contributor on Lorraine Ranalli’s Cucina Chatter radio program, appearing in The Upstairs Kitchen segment of the program.
Through his food blog, he shares another side of his artistry: using food as therapy and storytelling as a path to healing. Following the loss of his wife, Daria, in 2020, Dom found solace in creative expression – blending his passions for cooking, writing, and design into a single thread of resilience. His memoir, Reflections: A Young Widower’s Journey Through Loss, Hope, and Healing, and earlier book, A Little of This and Some of That: Recipes and Memoirs from an Italian-American Food Blogger, both reflect his belief that creativity – like food – nourishes the soul.
